The Tee Off for Prostate Health: The James “Wolf” Harris Memorial Golf Tournament exists to honor the life and legacy of James “Wolf” Harris by turning passion for the game into purpose. Our mission is to raise awareness, promote early detection, and strengthen community support for men’s health—while fostering mentorship and connection across generations.

Through this annual event, we unite golfers, families, and organizations in the fight against prostate cancer and in the pursuit of stronger, healthier communities. A portion of the proceeds directly benefits CURE Inc., a community-based organization empowering youth through mentorship and education.

Together, we honor the past, fight for the present, and invest in a healthier future for men and families across Houston and beyond.

Fighting Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men — and it affects families everywhere. In the United States, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, and nearly 60% of all cases occur in men aged 65 and older. The average age at diagnosis is around 66 years old, making awareness and early detection especially vital.

When detected early, prostate cancer has a five-year survival rate of nearly 100%. However, awareness, education, and access to quality healthcare remain key barriers in many communities. That’s why initiatives like the Tee Off for Prostate Health: The James “Wolf” Harris Memorial Golf Tournament are so important — turning passion for golf into a powerful platform for education, prevention, and family support.
